Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Suspect in Alleged Attempted Ritual Killing of 10-Year-Old Boy in Katsina State


 Katsina State Police Command has apprehended a 20-year-old man suspected of trying to kill a 10-year-old boy in what authorities describe as a ritual-related incident, follows reports that the suspect lured the child into a secluded bush area with harmful intent.

According to police statements, the suspect  a native doctor allegedly attempted to carry out the act for ritual purposes, possibly linked to preparing charms or other superstitious practices. The boy was rescued in time, preventing a tragic outcome, though exact details of how the attempt was thwarted have not been fully disclosed publicly.

The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the arrest, noting that the suspect confessed during questioning. Investigators are treating the case seriously, with charges potentially including attempted culpable homicide, unlawful use of juju (traditional charms or rituals), and possible links to cult activities. The investigation remains ongoing as officers work to gather more evidence and determine if others were involved.
